    I used a clay bar with soap and water and it worked amazing. My 05 etec looks like new

    update: Thank you for all the suggestions. Today I did mix 3 parts Heinz Cleaning white vinegar and 1 part water in a spry bottle. I was amazed at how well it removed the hard water stains from both the boat and cowl!!! Looks awesome

    I use wd40 every other time I go out it coats the plastic and makes it shine. I do the whole engine. I wipe down my car truck engine compartment also and keeps it looking like new. I buy those yellow microfiber towels at costco, wm has them to. The water in my area is extremely hard. Try it.

    Vinegar, Lime Away, CLR, all work. Water spot removers are all a mild acid base. So you should wax afterward.

    Nothing better on the market than Purkleen for yellowing and hard water spots/stains.

    Peregrine 250 Waterdog......ridiculous how great this stuff is....you can get it at Tackle warehouse. I use it for everything now
