    2017 21TRX setup help.

First this is not my boat, so I do not have all the info yet on it.

At some point he will be bringing it by to get current P2P and check hot foot for WOT.

    What is known.

    Equipment:
    2017 21TRX, 250proxs TorqueMaster Lower (25hrs), 26p Fury4 4blade, WOT 5400rpm on Smartcraft (which is low, would like somewhere around 5800) @72Mph GPS, 10inch manual jackplate.
Duel 8 Powerpoles. Light Load (he doesn't carry much gear and he weight's 170) half tank fuel empty live wells.
Vey little rooster tail if at all, Still runs around 70 with a 250lb partner. He has already went as high on the plate as he can. Will have to move motor up on plate if we need to go higher. Does not seem much bow lift. No chine walking at full speed. Holeshot is pretty good, all plugs out on the fury4.

He will be bringing it over so we can get a P2P measurement, and check the hotfoot for full WOT.

Any thoughts on where we should start with P2P, also is 26p Fury4 to much prop? (baring an issue with hot foot).

    I will follow up!

Here is a short clip I have that may help at WOT.

    Thanks in advance!

He may be getting a 25p to try out from the dealer, not sure if fury3, 4 or temp+ though.

26 to big. 25 is what he wants. As far a rooster tail the smaller the rooster tail the better it is hooked up

Besides if prop is to big ( which like I said we need to check his hot foot)
I do believe prop is too big also. Being at 5400 not sure a 25p would get him to 5800.

Any suggestions or someone who has same boat for P2P starting height?

I have a 2016 21TRX, Merc 250 w/ dual power poles and the 26 Fury 4 is way too big. I run a Fury 4 24 and hit rpms around 5850 loaded. I have a hydraulic jackplate but your p2p won't help you until you drop pitch.

With a light load the tempest+ at 25P has been my best prop and the Fury 4 better for lower speed navigation and heavier loads.

And what speeds are you seeing with the 24 fury?

69-70mph. I am sure I can get more out of it with some more seat time. I am still a Triton rookie.

He'll gain 400 rpm's with the 24" fury 4 but not any speed.

I'm running a 25 Tempest plus right now but my boat felt a lot sportier with the Fury 4. At least it did til the Fury 4 decided it wanted to be a three blade

The best performance will be with a Tempest unfortunately many have to find out by trial an error. I was one of those. I had 6 new props and now I have two 26 Tempests that are B&B by Croxton. I would try a 25 or 26 Tempest at 2.75 below. If he has to run a Fury then a 25 3 blade will be your best bet at 3 below. Good luck

I've got a 25 Tempest coming to try, I'm running a Fury 4 right now. The 4 blade has a lot more lift than the Fury 3, the 3 blade would not carry a load in my boat.

What kind of lift, stern or bow? The Fury 3 is a stern lifting prop.

The 3 blade fury will not lift the bow on my rig with any kind of load or heat.

GPS speed with Fury 4 is 1-2mph less compared directly to the Tempest plus running at same/similar RPM, location.

Peak F4 prop was around 70-71 and Tempest would run anywhere from 72-74ish.

What I've found and haven't seen discussed is focus on time to reach those speeds (acceleration). Depending on what type of fishery (distance traveled between spots, navigation required, or rough water) a slower overall speed prop may be better if you have higher acceleration. Would give you the ability to hit more areas in a day (higher efficiency) in many cases.

    Again, just my thoughts...
