You could mount one of these on the cowl:

But you'd be drilling holes to mount it, and install a plug to disconnect it to remove the cowl. I recall someone else here doing that.

I have one on the top of my motor. Way easier than the removable ones no little prongs to corrode. Easy to install but you do have to fish the wires back there
