    361 v fuel tanks

picking up a 92 361 v this sunday, the tank are under the seats (18 gals) each, I see a switch
for the tanks but is there a fuel gage of some sort. and if something goes wrong
with those tanks are they ezy to get at and fix? I like what I see at the rear hatch
for battery's and pumps looks very ezy to get at a lot of open room to work. thanks glenn

My gauge is on the dash with a port & starboard switch on the dash that shows whats in each tank. I change tanks on mine with a lever at the rear in the splash well. I haven't had any problems so don't know how they are to get at. Post pics when you can.

Had a 361. yes the tanks are under the seat and easy to get to. If your gauge is not working properly take it to a certified repair shop. A lot of people don't know but those older boats have a different type in tank sending unit that controls the gauge. If wired incorrectly they can cause an arc inside the tank. Be very careful as I have personally worked on these.

    PS: Great boat...Congratulations

The gauge will read whichever tank you're pulling from. When you switch tanks, the gauge will change accordingly.

It's a fine ride. One of the best Ranger has made IMO.

My gauge doesn't switch when i switch tanks. I have a switch to the left of the gauge so I can go from one tank to the other. My tank selector is in between the seats by your feet.

What about coating the lid in a layer of marine tex?

That stuff hardens just like fiberglass...super tough...probably easier than messing with the resin too.

    Wishin' I was fishin'...

Has your tank selector been moved or did they put it in different locations? Just curious
