    basemap v. lakemaster

I'm sure I know the answer to this already, but is there a major difference between lakemaster chip and the basemap updates that are now available? I have two Helix's that obviously don't share maps so I need to decide whether buying another card is worth it, or just go with the free basemap.

Basemaps are very general and on my lakes basically just show the main river channel and creek channels with limited contours. The Lakemaster on the other hand is awesome if it covers the lakes you fish. I had to buy a Navionics because my Lakemaster doesn't cover just one lake that I fish.

Not for Colorado most locals will tell you that Colorado lakes are not covered very well. Not worth the money. If I was back east bass fishing I would have the best I could afford.
