    Future of Helix Gen1...

The Helix Gen1 10si is now under $1000 at mainline/bigboy retailers. With the recent price decreases on Helix Gen1, does anyone know if Humminbird preparing to stop production of Gen1 Helix soon? Or, does Humminbird plan to retain Helix Gen1 as a very competitive budget-friendly line of fish finders that will eat into lines such as the Garmin Stryker or Lowrance Elite?

This year is the second year of the first generation Helix 9, Helix 10 and Helix 12. Typical production runs are two years. Most mfg do the same.

Has nothing to do with price decreases to compete with those brands/models.

The Helix 5 and Helix 7 first generation were replaced by the G2 and G2N models last fall.

Some of the longer term users may have a better answer but I would not expect them to continue production past the end of this year if not sooner. Probably still lots of available stock out there too. No inside info but just a guess...I don't own that crystal ball...LOL

The ONIX and 1198 are the two longest production models I know of.
