I keep a basic log. Water temp, wind, fish quality, what lure(s) worked and what lure(s) didn't. If it was one of those epic days that comes around every so often, then I'll make a more detailed entry because something probably happened that I wasn't expecting or didn't know about and I want a more detailed record of the day.

I have kept a fishing log since 1980 and document body of water, areas fished, Loran (long time ago) GPS locations loaded during the trip, water temp, conditions, tide if applicable, baits, catch rates. This is an invaluable tool for me to map similar conditions/locations for following years.

Same here! I was looking at some 1984-85 logs awhile back and I was right back there. Good memories!

Sure would like to do this, this thread is a good reminder. Might be a miracle if I can keep it up, but fishing tidal waters, I think it would be of great use to learn the area as well.
