    Minocqua chain

Anyone ever do well there? Fish it twice a year and usually catch only small fish. Any advice? Any other lakes in the area worth checking out?

We are spending 5 days on the LDF chain. It's just a bit NW of Minocqua. It'll be our first time there, but I've heard good things.

I have fished the Minocqua area on lakes like squirrel, star, big/little arb and have done ok but nothing to write home about, I prefer Tomahawk as home base if it is strictly for fishing. I have had some unbelievable smallmouth fishing in the Tomahawk area and on the Willow flowage.

Wind is your friend. Fish ends of Islands with wind blowing on them. wind blown docks close to deeper water and remember where there is good green weeds. Green pumpkin senkos and fitness worms and perch color topwaters before 8am.

Pine lake and the Gile Flowage are my favorites.
