Does the unit power up and work at all? Where is the fuse located? Does it blow the fuse if the unit is not connected? Tell us more about how your unit is wired.

When fuse blows in an electrical circuit here are the only things that may be wrong in set up
    1. faulty fuse easiest fix but unlikely
    2. the unit itself highly unlikely. In that you stated in ran for couple hours then blew fuse
    3. Power lead is grounding somewhere in its run length, highly likely the source of your problem. The positive lead may have a slight nick in the wire that grounds when subjected to movement.

Easiest way to determine is if you have extra power lead with installed fuse. Remove unit from boat and with extra power lead hook up to another 12 volt battery. Make sure a 3 amp fuse is connected with your extra power lead. Turn on and run in simulation. If unit functions without blowing fuse you can be assured the problem is in your wiring.
