    Good news for Grand Lake

Ferc approved the GRDA rule curve change request through 2022 and the annual 741' draw down is history. Will save a lot of prop and hull damage Labor day holidays.

Summer/winter levels are the same. 744'/742'. New curve is 743' from 8-15 to 9-15, then down to 742' by 10-1. Gets rid of the late summer draw down to 741' that every one around the lake hated.

It won't be a good thing for the fish. IMO
Which they would bring it down lower so some new willows would grow.

Question - why does GRDA change the normal water level throughout the year in the first place?

sense most of the lakes are built for flood control the draw the lake down in the winter to be prepared for the influx of water when the spring rains hit.

No, that idea was discarded on Grand after a few years when it didn't work but the draw down for no other reason just kept happening every year anyway. Finally the Feds in Washington agreed to eliminate it.

It seems most of the best fishing days I have had have been when lakes are low or extremely low. Don't get me wrong, I love fishing flood bushes and willows, actually prefer it, but seems the fishing is much more stable in a low lake
