    Midwest Public land

Thinking of planning a trip this fall to either Kentucky, Ohio or Illinois to deer hunt on public land. Anybody know of any good public ground in those areas?

A lot of the public land in Kentucky and local states has gotten a lot of hunting pressure in recent years, deer numbers are down also. Mark Twain National Forest in Missouri has 1.5 million acres of rugged land, and some areas of flatter land, there is some decent deer hunting there in certain areas. The Hoosier National Forest in Indiana, has some decent deer hunting in certain areas, but a lot of hunting pressure also. During archery season those places receive much less pressure.

I have been reading John Eberharts books..He gives some great tips for hunting pressured public lands and has the records to prove their worth..
