    New Curado Rods

I see some here have the new Curado K just curious if the new rods are out yet and if anybody here has one or has any experience/use with one. If so what's your opinion?

I'm looking forward to the same. I haven't seen any YouTube Videos popping up with folks unboxing or showing them off yet. I definitely want to try one.

You'll both be pleasantly surprised. I fished a couple both contact rods and was surprised!

I've never fished or held an IMX, but I do remember one of the Shimano guys saying that the Curado series of rods were taking the place of the Crucial series if that helps.

Good info, assuming the actions are similar. My main jig rod is a now-discontinued Crucial that I really, really like. Glad to know where to look for a replacement!

For the price tag of a Chinese Curado rod, you are real close to a American made rod like a ALX or Hammer ,that's a no-brainer imo.

Chronarch and up are Japanese, Curado Malaysia always has been (at least back to the old greenies), anything below Curado not sure as I've never owned any. Rods are Chinese even my Expride which surprised me but I got a hell of a deal on it so oh well.

Then why do all my E series Curado's have "Japan" stamped on them?

    And the "D" series:

    And the "B" series:

I stand corrected, yes my BSF and all my E7's are Japanese but my I series and 70 are Malaysia. I guess I was think about my OLD white Coriolis which is Malaysian (only reel I have below Curodo model). Also I guess since the new ones are Malaysian I got mixed up there. Did they move with the I series?

It was the G series and newer that were not made in Japan. I don't know if all of them were Malaysia, but none were stamped Japan.

Of all the B and E series Curados I've had over the years, if you would asked me yesterday I would've sworn they were Malaysian even though I knew they were Japan. I guess my new ones having Malaysia stamped on the erased my memory lol.

I think this is the reason most folks say the Curado died with the E.

Curado is Curado regardless of origin. Yes, the very first reels out of ML were not perfect, nor were the E series for that matter. That said, now ML has been on line for sometime now, the production quality is night and day and ML are
Not much different from their JP counterparts. The facilities and employees are now well versed at building reels and they just keep getting better and better. No diff than when JP began producing cars and nobody wanted anything built on JP. Hmmm, that sure has changed....it'll be the same with Shimano reels as time goes by, I have no doubts....
