    Power steering ?

2006 chevy trailblazer, p/s pump whining.
When I replace it, do I have to bleed the system?
    Thx

Sure the p/s pump is the problem, most likely its the idler pulley between the generator and a/c compressor.. If its the p/s pump, fill pump to min. level, engine off and have the front tires off the ground. Turn steering from lock to lock 12 times to bleed system. Seen a lot of idler pulley cause the same noise.

Had a Honda once that was sucking air through a return line fitting (it was tight, but, not tight enough). Much like a fuel line on a boat can suck air and not leak fuel.
That Honda Power Steering pump screamed, and so did the new one.
That's the only time I've ever run into that particular problem on a PS pump though.
I think the new secret color is "A-Rig"..........
