    Carlyle or coffeen ?

    Don't see much on either. Is it kept quiet for a reason? Or nobody fishin them?

    I went to coffeen for the first time earlier this year. Has some good fish in it but I am sure the bite tapers off as summer hits since it's a cooling lake. Can't say for sure. And I have never fished Carlyle but from what I have heard it's not a great fishery.

    Locals refer to Carlyle as the Dead Sea. Coffeen has rebounded nicely after years of slot limit. Any wind at all and Carlyle is rough and full of sailboats. Carlyle Lake levels fluctuate in spring too much as it is used for flood control to ever have a great spawn.
    One thing Carlyle is good for white bass in the fall.

    Thank you, I agree about Carlyle being the dead sea! Went a couple days first week of August. White bass was all I could get. Your not lying about it getting rough! WOW!!
    Going their made me like the hp restricted lakes even more. Gonna sell my 50 and get a 25
