It's a great idea to make sure your push pole is in the rod locker. Many sand bars have creeped up near the surface. One area that leads back to Millers is very thin in the slot that leads north into that area. ...just sayin' ... you might want to proceed with caution. Of course, on the river, if you are not between the bouys, I hope you know what lies ahead. We have
learned one repair at a time. LOL. It is a great pool with good size resident bass. We have photographed many of them over the years and God willing, will memorialize many more.
    Good fishing to all ....

Be careful. If you don't know the skinny water, there are a lot of lower units on bottom

There thousands of acres of fishable water above and below Savanna. For those that may be thinking about fishing the pool but don't know some of the basics of the Mississippi it would be smart to fish a few tournaments draws for experienced river guys (or gals).
Wing dams, closing dams, stumps, and shallow water are all over the place. But, they can hold schools of aggressive bass this time of year. 13 is a good crappie and walleye pool, too. Bits and pieces of skegs, props, and more are also all over the place... so it's
good to learn the connecting lanes between stops.
