Bass Boats that don't Chine Walk

I have been shopping for a new Bass Boat, only have had Ranger and Charger in the past. Neither of these boats chine walked however to be fair I don't think either was fast enough to, both were sub 70 mph boats. Looking at new Rangers, BCB and Skeeter. I see that BCB will walk and you have to learn how to drive them to get the most out of them. Skeeter I am told really doesn't and Ranger does a little but not much, I am guessing because of it's top end being low.

I can learn to drive one over time but what worries me is my spouse or kid driving and getting a little out of control. So my question is what boats don't chine walk but will run above 72 mph with a 250 and are 20'+?

It dont take long to "learn how to drive" a boat with CW......my skeeter didnt walk but when i got my Phoenix it did.....very easy to control and can be done in a day....my neighbor told me what to do one night, tried it out and never had any issues.....if your wife and kid is with you dont drive that fast, especially with a young child......

If you want one that won't walk, stick with a rig that won't go over 65 WOT. Around 70 they all need to be driven, by someone that's learned how to drive it.

Skeeter and nitro will be the best boats for not walking. They have a flat pad. The steeper the "v" or smaller the pad, the more it will walk.

Thinking it might be a little more difficult to control with one person? My Bird chines and I still don't know how to get through it. Granted I drive like granny and don't push it on my small lake.

Easy, get the boat you want and don't drive over 70-72. At that speed all will have to be driven to some degree. It's physics.

18' boats with 150's will cw at 63, boats with a 25" transom and 17* dead rise wont cw. Like a walleye boat or ranger 522d triton had a hybrid bass boat as well. It's not bad once you figure it out. I learned all by myself. My buddy learned from me in 3 hours. I would buy any boat, then establish a speed limit 4 mph less than the lowest chinewalk. My boats speed limit is 63. People can over trim and steer stupid and it will be ok.

At 66 my 195 Charger would start to chine. At 71 my 199 Legend starts to chine. At 63 my buddy's 519 Ranger chines. I haven't been in a boat that wouldn't chine walk unless it just didn't have enough power to get to the speed it starts. All boats have a different speed before they start to walk. I cannot drive through it with my Legend. It just gets worse and worse until I slow down

I had a skeeter zx250 with 250 pro xs. It would run up to about 72-73 without chine, once I got to 75 it wanted to walk a little but nothing major like the triton I had. Could easily drive it

Not true, my 2014 Z7 will walk at 61 if I let it. The older ones, no idea.

I can drive my BCB Cougar FTD to 83 mph with no walking. Because I know how to drive it. Just saying, any boat can chine walk if you have enough horse power to get the boat out of the water and have the torque to throw the boat to one side. But if you know how to drive a boat none will chine walk.

All bass boats that will give speeds over 70 mph walk. I have owned and driven many makes and models, all boats 65mph or less with a 250 won't walk all with a 250 that do 70mph + will walk. The slow boat just don't get enough air under them to let them walk. That said I would never drive a boat that won't do 70 to 75mph loaded. A performance boat you must drive not ride in. I can drive A Triton, BASS CAT or a Phoenix all over 75 mph and you will not feel any chine because I drive it out. The wife and kid won't be able to go over 65mph before they back off if they don't know how to drive a performance hull. By the performance boat and tell the family to keep it under 65mp, they will have no issue.

You can run low 70's all day in a Bullet without driving it. My wife has got it up to 75. WOT for me is 84. Rides better the the cookie cutters when it gets rough too!

Heard good things about the Falcon F215 being a stable boat to drive.
