Astro 18FDX Set up info???A buddy of mine just got a 1990 Astro 18FDX, need some info on the set up, or at least a good starting point?
It has a Merc. 150 with a 6in jack plate. Could you give me some info. on Prop to pad measurements, what prop, pitch, and .....?
What can he expect to get out of it with the right set up?

You need to measure the gear case and see if it's a small case 4.25" dia. or if it's been changed to a large case 4.75" dia. If it's a small case a trophy or small tube laser 22-23" will work and if it's a large case any prop will work. Prop to pad start at 3.5" under and it usually runs 59-60 mph lite.
It's the bigger 4.75" lower.
I'd start out around 3"-2.5" below with a 24 trophy.
