    Z 19 CAN ONLY GET A 200 hp

    Can only get a 200 Hp says it will run 68 to 70 with lite load you have to go to the z 20 to go to a bigger motor .

    Manufacturers know most people like speed (whether they will admit it on here or not)... therefore they make you pay more money to go faster by limiting the hp you can put on the less expensive models even if it means rating it below the Coast Guard spec/formula

    In short... if you want to go fast(er) you have to get the more expensive model... ya gotta pay to play

    In my opinion my z19 performance is good with a 200. Everyone loves speed but mine with 50 gallons of fuel and all my gear still runs 68. I'm pretty satisfied with the way it runs and handles. Full tank and live well full still gets out of the hole pretty quickly.

    Last time I was at Perris, a Z19 with twin power poles etc, came zipping past me at a good rate of knots - with a 200 - pretty sure if I get in the market for a new boat in the next couple of years, it'll be a 19 footer with a 200.

    6" longer than a z7, about 200 lbs more. I'd think it would preform pretty well with a 200.

    I was out last weekend by myself, fully loaded and 1/2 tank of gas, 1 talon... Topped out at 69.4 mpg gps... Pretty pleased with that... But I still think that boat can handle a 225hp with no problem... JMO...

    Thats because JM is keeping costs down by only giving it a 200 rating..if he did 225 ( which is in the C.G formula) it would outsell the larger Z20/21 due to its speed, and will save about 2k by only rating it with 200 while Ranger/BC/Legend/Phoenix ect..all rate with 225...

    That's pretty much what I was thinking too. It's not a great big 19 foot boat so it should run just fine on 200 hp
