    99 tr21 prop help

I have a 99 tr21 with a 225 optimax turning a 25p tempest plus that has some wear. I can turn 5400 rpm but boats only running mid 60s loaded or not. Also has a 6inch jack plate at 2.5 prop to pad. What can I do to make the boat run in the 70s

First thing I would do is send your prop to Mark and see what it does when it comes back.

I have 99 tr21 3.0 225 25pitch no jackplate just can't get out of hole. Would the 10" plate be the best. Any help would be appreciated.

First do everything that's listed in this thread about fuel lines. http://www.bbcboards.net/showthread.php?t=22490 It sounds more like a fuel delivery at high speed problem.

My 99 TR21 has a 12" jackplate and 26P Bravo. She does 74-76 when I have the guts to drive her. 225 Yamaha rebuilt in 2015.

I would suggest NOT going with a 12" jackplate with a Mercury Optimax motor.

I had the same motor......25P Trophy Plus is what you need, and will do 70 MPH, once you learn how to drive the boat.

I used to run the same motor back in the day on mine. The 25 trophy plus it the way to go. I’d have Mark Croxton tweak it too.
