Rough River Rumors

I'm hearing that Rough will be taken down to winter pull and held there until 2020 for damn repairs. Has anyone else heard that?

Yeah that's the rumor. If it is indeed fact, then the local economy will be devastated. But the fishing will be good in a few years with all the vegetation growth!

I can't imagine they would relocate the marina just to drop the water for 2 years,but they've been working on the dam for awhile now. Maybe they found something more serious than they thought and have to do more work.... i dunno

All the contractors and equipment left 2 weeks ago....

I was told by a corps employee that the week after July 4th in 2019 they are dropping the lake to winter pool until spring of 2020 to do the dam work. That's what the plan is as of now is what they were told.

^ This, I also stopped in the corps office today to pick up new pass and asked about the dam they said "phase 1 is complete and in 2019 they would start drawdown a few months early to complete phase 2" so it sounds like a few extra months of winter pool is all.
