    1999 201 Cobra, 225 Johnson

    Hope someone can help. Have a 1999 201 Cobra with a 225 Johnson, running a 26P prop at 6200 rpm. Need to drop 400 rpm's, not interested in speed, so top end is not a problem. Would a 4 blade 14 x 26p drop rpm's to 5800?

    Are you sure your tach is functioning properly?
    I used to have a 225 Opti on my 201 and the tach would read close to 6000 RPM at WOT all the time.
    When I had it scanned for hours, the scan indicated that it had never been over 5400 RPM's.
    I'm wondering if your 225 would turn a 26P to 6200 RPM's?
    Just a thought.
