Daytime running lights on 2016 Chevy Silverado

Hey guys I know it's a pain to back up at night at the ramp while having to look at someone else's headlights. I've tried every trick I know of to turn off my daytime running lights but still leave my parking lights on and haven't found a way yet. Do any of y'all know how to do that?

I've read a "click or two" on the Parking Brake used to turn Automatic Head Lights off, not sure it works for DRL's.

I tried that it didn't work. I got my manual out and read it and couldn't find anything. Haven't been able to find anything online either. I just hate to be that guy at the ramp. They go off if I cut the lights completely off but on a dark ramp those trailer lights and taillights sure do help

I am not sure on a 2016 but, on my 2002, I can turn the headlights off by rapidly pushing in and out the interior light button. It is on the far left side of my dash to the left of the steering wheel. Try pushing it several times in and out rapidly and see if that doesn't work for you. Good luck!

If it's like my 2014, you turn the light switch off and the DRL's go out.

As long as the switch is on Auto, the DRL's are on.

On mine it's a knob on the left hand side of the steering wheel. When you switch to off it springs back to auto and you have no lights whatsoever. As soon as you switch the parking lights on the drl's come back on

I don't think it matters much anymore with all the led backup lights on the trailers.

Turn on only your parking lights. That should turn off the running lights and head lights...

My 98 Silverado has them and a couple years ago I pulled the fuse out. There's one just for them. Now mine is the daylights not in the bumper or lower spoiler, but shared with my low beams. Pull the fuse and only affects running light operation, not the low beams.

I believe he's talking about the LED running lights on only 16 and newer Silverados not just the headlights themselves

Since most GM truck running lights fail after a few years, you will not have to worry about them too much longer.

I'm glad someone actually knows what I'm talking about. And for those of you that keep saying just turn the parking lights on I'm fully aware of that but on the newer ones the drl's stay on even when you turn the parking lights on.

Did you turn the lights off? This turns off DRL on my 17 company truck.

Third post in the thread. Makes backing the trailer harder due to not being able to see it.

I was coming in to post the parking brake trick as that's worked on every vehicle I ever had with DRL. Shame it doesn't work here!

I know right. You'd think GM would have a way to disable them and I'm sure there is but I haven't found it yet. It really doesn't matter now with fall getting close most of my fishing will be done in the daytime anyways. It kinda felt a little like fall here today but I'm sure the heat and humidity will come back with a vengeance.
