98' 488VS locker lid replacement

She may have some age, but she still runs like she was new. All original, but unfortunately its time for new carpet (Winter project ). I figure while I'm at it I'll replace all the locker lids.

Has had experience with aluminum lids. I figure anodizing the aluminum will protect. Looking for issues experienced, do's, do not, should have done this, etc...etc...

Is there a problem with the lids? I put new carpet in my 97' last winter and the lids are as solid as when they were new. Never considered replacing them.

The lids are starting to crack around the latches and hinges are starting to work loose from rivets. I have already replaced rivets for a few of the lids but they seem to be pulling loose again.

Drill out the rivets and use 10-32 screws and lock nuts.
