I will be putting in at Herlong Park this weekend. It will be my first time on lake Griffin, hows the water levels out their? Might be running through the lock on Haines creek any pointers for a newbie? Thanks for the help.

Water levels are fine, no worries there. Fishing has been good on Griffin. Water is dirty for the most part, but there are clearer areas where the hydrilla is found.
Yep, probably the best fishing lake on the Harris Chain right now - I wouldn't even lock out, if I were you.
Topwater bite is on fire for a SHORT time in Lake Griffin State Park area early in the morning.
