    First time going to Nolin...

Never been to Nolin, any suggestions? Not looking for specific areas. Mainly just looking for what's the water look like right now? Should I be concerned about where I run? General stuff. Any help is appreciated.

Water was good this past weekend all over the main lake. It's at summer pool so most everywhere is safe to run unless it's marked. I haven't fished during daylight hours since July but I assume fish are still biting on points and drops. The night bite has been pretty good though lately.

Thanks for the reply, do you recall what the water temp was?

It was around 84 last weekend. It may have cooled down some since then. Only thing you really have to look out for is running in a few of the creeks. If you run towards the backs there will be stickups right under the surface.

Last Saturday night it ranged where we were from 84-80. I assume it's closer to the 80 degree mark or even less with the cooler nights this week.

If you're there early AM, this time of year you can find some in the jumps. They usually aren't big but they are a lot of fun to catch. Wait for one to bust and throw right in the splash or ripples and you catch them every time. Usually 10-13" fish but you can catch a bunch. Good luck!

Well... Didn't end up going. Went to the gas station to get gas in the truck, pulled up to the pump and it was out of service, went to pull around to the other one and ran into the post protecting the gas pump and took out the fender on my trailer. Took that as a sign of things to come and headed home. Forgot the boat was back there for a minute. Learned to always pay attention when trailering flipping bone headed move on my part.

Seems that I didn't miss anything in Western KY over the weekend, everyone I talked to had bad weekends on the smaller lakes. Haven't talked to anyone who was on KY or Barkley.
