RT188 with factory set back plate. ?????

Who else has one? Does yours spray a lot of water up? Mine sprays a lot of water to the sides and some comes up middle depending on where engine is trimmed. Is this normal with a set back plate, normal for the RT's??

Are you sure its from the plate and not a transducer? Mine sprays a lot but it's my LSS-2 transducer.

mine sprays a lot too but I think it is from the transducer. However I have not tried to determine if there is any coming from the setback plate. You could make a hole shot plate from aluminum sheet and attach it to the bottom of the set back plate to stop the water flow.

If it's the set back plate you have some serious problems, that thing on plane should be a good 6" from the surface of the water.

If its spraying even on both sides its the tabs. The factory placement produces alot of spray. Only time a jack plate would be the culprit is slowing down and coming off plane or taking off since the jack plate can scoop water. That is the reason for a holeshot plate. I had to make one for mine because i took a shower every time i stopped.
