    PS-21 interference

    This is is the interference I'm getting on my ps21. When I go deeper, the interference just stretches out. I've tried moving the ducer higher but then any small waves and it comes out of the water and it didn't help anyway. It's sitting probably 12" +/- above the trolling motor head.

    I cant fricken get a pic to load to save my life.....

    I have same prob and even got a new PS21 under waranty. Same deal. And the nose of my motor is longer than yours.

    I just seen a video of Cody Meyers boat and his ps21 is only like 6" above his tm head.... ??

    Ah. That could easily be the source of the noise. Try turning it on/off and see what happens.

    MonteSS. This is not normal. I am fishing deep right now but in the spring I fished extensively in shallow water and if I saw something like this it would be a school of some sort. Since you have this a lot, something is not right. There is some blocking or something wrong with the transducer. If it is constant I think blocking is more likely, but I'm guessing.
    My wife asks if I'm going to fish every day. I can't fish every day. Some days I might be sick.

    Yeah, if that mess is always there, its time to call support and see if they will send you a new one.

    You might want to do a test first by taking it off the trolling motor and rig up a temporary test stick so you can be sure its not blocking causing the issue. Or even just hang it over the side by the cable.

    I took the PS21 off the mount and hung it over the side with clear view. No change. It is there all the time.

    Got a new PS21 from Garmin and same deal. I guess its in the MFD?

    70dv with latest update.

    Thats making me wonder if they are having a production problem.

    Id call them back right away. Something is definitely wrong with the PS21 or the mfd..

    I don't think it's the hydrowave.... I've not turned it on and still had the interference

    Monte, when you get a chance out on the water, can you repeat this issue you are having with Panoptix, and with the Panoptix issue occurring please swap views to traditional 2D and take a screenshot.

    Todd. Long time ago I made a suggestion to Garmin that never got anywhere. There should be a "diagnostic" mode that can be selected for people having problems with their units. Then when they do a screenshot another file with the same name but .txt on the end be created containing all the unit settings. Seems to me that could eliminate a lot of trial and error figuring out why something is happening, if it is related to settings. If you agree, maybe you would suggest it to Garmin.

    Working on some ps21 issues myself.
    Curious as to what info you would hope to gain from the requested 2D screenshot?
    I will be out Thursday and am wondering what other screenshots may be helpful in trouble shooting.
