Tell me the difference in these fish please

How can I tell the difference between a stripper and a hybrid? Must have
caught 40 last weekend and threw them back because I could not
be sure of the difference and a stripper has to be 18 inches and I was told
no size limit on hybrids. Please tell me how to know the difference

Sunshines can often be distinguished by broken or irregular stripes on the front half of body and straight lines on the rear half of body. A mid-body break in line pattern occasionally occurs.

where are you fishing? only the suwannee river has the restriction on size

20 Striped bass, white bass , and sunshine bass (individually or in total), of which only 6 may be 24 inches or longer in total length.

    • In the Suwannee River, areas north and west of the Suwannee River, and in any tributary, creek or stream of the Suwannee River: the bag limit for striped bass is 3, each of which must be at least 18 inches in total length (20 fish combined bag limit)(See map below).
