    OPTI TROUBLE

    Message for Don or any other merc authorities. My 2000 opti 200hp OTO19539 ran fine half the day yesterday then would get up on plane then cut out for a second then catch for a second then cut out again. Back off the throttle and idles fine. throttle up and start to go then cuts out again.If I pump up the ball it will run fine for 30 seconds then same. Any thoughts?

    See the FAQ post on fuel lines and such here. Sounds like you need to replace 18 year old fuel line from tank to motor, including primer bulb and such, then start cleaning the VST. pump, etc.

    I did all that years ago. The grey fuel lines were a problem but no problems since.

    So is the direction I should head in a fuel feed blockage? Will I need any new gaskets or seals to remove and disassemble the diaphragm pump?
