    300XS Top Cowl question

I have a 2014 300XS, and I also have an extra 250XS Cowling from my last motor. I like the graphics of the new 300XS motors.

Is the 250XS cowl identical to what is on my 300? Same air flow and clearance?

if so, does anyone have a part number for an OEM set of current 300XS decals?

I can then have 2 to choose from!! Wow- I clearly have too much time and not enough sense!!

    thanks-

I think the insulation inside the cowl is the only difference.

Send me an e-mail so I will remember to look to see for sure.

I can also get you the decals.

And if you still have the insulation in the cowl, pull it out, especially the top piece.

As it gets wet, it'll start to sag and eventually fall down on the engine.

You can leave the side insulation in it, the top piece is the most important to remove.

I haven't seen any of the 3.0L insulation drop out yet. The 2.5L stock cowls had a problem with the glue turning loose.

On my prev 07 300xs the top insulation came loose and would such down on the inlet leaving a ring on the insulation. I cut that portion out. On the 2014 300xs I just took care of it early enough so it wasn't a problem.

As easy as all of mine has pulled out.. I could definitely see it falling on it's own.

Is this problem only on the 300XS cowlings?

Dropped down on the top intake hole...+1. Not only dropped but the foam started to disintegrate and leaving little foam particles in the intake, among the reed valves etc.
