Anyone have a dash cam in their vehicle?

Thinking about getting one or two. Can't hurt to have evidence these days with the way people drive.

I am interested in this as well. I believe someone recently posted about one with motion detection that notified them via an app when motion was detected.

I've have had one in all 3 vehicles I drive for the last 4 years. It should combat the he said, she said argument, if involved in an accident. I've never needed it for an accident, although I've caught some nice video of wildlife and such.

I would like to have the camera but probably shouldn't have a mic in the truck.

I have a BlackVue 650-2ch with a power magic pro. A bit pricey but the best on the market, install it and after that forget about it.

ETA: If you're worried it could be used against you the above model has a button to format the SD card easily accessible. In under 10 seconds the whole card can be wiped clean

I know a few people who would have been charged in an accident had they NOT had the evidence that showed someone else was at fault, not them.

Not as much as NOT having one to prove your case...................

After getting side swiped and the person told the police I crossed over I knew I had to get something to protect all our vehicles. I was able to use the pics of the skid marks to prove I was not at fault but now I have a RoadHawk HD. Uses a standard SD card shoots 1080p video.

Most big carriers have cameras now. One cam on the driver, the other cam shows the outside from the front fenders fwd. someone cuts in front of a truck and the light changes and they get hit------ with the cam they ( 4 wheeler) will lose in court.

I've thought of one for the truck when it's at the ramp while I fish. After having various incidents ranging from stolen license plates, to a stolen spare tire to someone backing into the trailer, I'd like something inside my Leer shell to monitor

Yep - my wife was involved in a hit & run. Little late now & I've had 1 for a year & it's on whenever we go anywhere.....also leave it on at the ramp too. How many times have you been hit at the ramp? That busted red plastic you see around your trailer didn't just happen from a pedestrian. Mines on a suction cup about 2" to the right of the mirror. Have yet to use/need it. Got it from OldShark - Amazon and it was around $50. The built in batteries are worthless so don't rely on camera to run any longer than you can hold your breath. Mine stays on when plugged into cig lighter socket. And yes you can have it to record sound. I have mine off unless you want to hear rated R ranting.

I have one in my truck and one in my wife car. Had them for the last 6 years.
Currently I have a Papago GoSafe S30 in my truck and my wife has a Papago GoSafe 272 in her car. We also have a cheap dash cam we take with us when we go on vacation and have to get a rental car.

Very good idea I run them in every semi I own and can't count how many times it's been great to have the evidence to look back at when something happens. Should run in my personal vehicles also but I don't for unknown reason.

I have been searching and learning also. I found one i seem to like from a company called THINKWARE. Looks pretty good and has a rear facing camera as well. If hard wired into the vehicle you have parking protection also.

After a couple of close calls I use a Z-Edge Z3 ( https://www.amazon.com/Z3-HD1296P-25...ords=z+edge+z3 ) adapted and mounted to the built in GoPro mount. Really great little camera that does it's thing well.
