    battery size for 618

anyone know if I can get a group size 31 battery in the 618 as a cranking battery? Want to pick up a AMG battery group 31 but not sure it will fit. My boat is not with me but memory says it has like a 24 size on it now.

Batteries Plus has Duracells. Those are really Deka batteries, I believe.
They give discounts too if you tell them you're shopping around.
Can't recall what I paid, but it wasn't bad. I have them in my other boat, a Champion

I have an Odyssey for Starting and Interstate for Troller. Boat's only a month old but no complaints so far. They did have to change the trays .

    I put a 27 in my boat because I don't think a 31 will fit in my 618.

One of the recommended batteries on the Mercury boards. It has a 48 month warranty and is one bad mother. I would think on a 618 the 27 would be enough amps for cranking and accessories.

I'm looking into buying batteries at the moment for my 618 as well.
Went to the local store and we talked about flooded vs AGM, I got a two quotes:
Flooded type batteries (2) -381$ Tax in with core exchange
The AGM battieries are from FullRiver (2) - 729$ Tax in with core exchange

All of this is CDN $

I'm going to call around and see if I can get another quote

I think a 27 enough as well but think Sams only sells the Duracell in a 31 for a great price

if you fish tournaments at all and have big screen graphs you will not regret a 31. I have changed to 31"s in my last 3 boats.

Go to Sam's Club. Duracell's are 78.99 at mine. Just replaced three (1 cranking, 2 TM) in my bass cat. Take the old batteries with you as the core charge is $18 per battery. This is a steal. Note that ALL their duracell marine batteries are the same price. (These are NOT the AGM variety of Duracell, I think they were maybe $160 or so). I bought three group-27's. They had 24's and 31's. Did not notice any 29's, but I was looking specifically for 27's to fit my trays. They were also not old. Bought 'em last week, the oldest they had on the shelves were made in July of this year, I found some with august dates on 'em.
