Spent yesterday on the ocean with my wife and 14 year old in the Hobies. We managed three limits with 6 lingcod, 3 cabezon, and 27 rockfish. I'm stuck on duty today at work but we are headed to Clear Lake tomorrow morning when I get off to see if we can upgrade our standings in the Kayak Bass Fishing California monthly challenge for August. Right now my son is in 1st, my wife in 4th, and I'm in 5th. In my defense I've only uploaded three of the possible 5 fish limit so far. LOL

I'm gonna try this next year. For now, I have family in town for 2 weeks so no fishing. But when September arrives it's on, and people will have to do without my company whilst I whacks 'em and stacks 'em!

Clear Lake was fishing pretty good last night despite an insane algae bloom up there that looks like bright green paint is covering the water everywhere you look. Visibility is very poor but the bite was on with plenty of fish for my wife, my 14 year old, and myself. We managed around 60 fish altogether but no big ones. It was enough to get me into 1st, my 14 year old into 2cd place, and my wife into 3rd for the monthly! Now If I can just keep the wife in the top three so that she can get qualified for the National Championship again!

Exactly what I was doing Saturday afternoon...getting some upgrades on my KBF state challenge. Sitting in 3rd right now out of 36....the two ahead of me will be hard to beat with all of their free time. Need to find a couple more 20" fish to seal the deal.

The lake kicked my butt, only managed one fish on a frog(20.5"), but it will help in the challenge. Just need 4 more like it or bigger.
