Question Yamaha 115 sho Rpm range

I recently just broke in my 2016 Yamaha max sho vf115 and it is powering a rp190 ranger aluminum bay boat.
When I got to the 5th hour of the break in I was able to run it wot for a min then back off, and when I was
at wot it was at 6600 rpm with 48.5 mph on gps. I was concerned if that's too many rpm's for a motor
i read on the Yamaha website wot ranges from 5300-6300 rpm. Can someone give me some advice on if 6600 rpm is normal and ok?

The gurus will likely weigh in - I would stay within the range (6300).
Do not take your half in the middle ....

Also make sure your tach is correct.

    Double check the tachometer.

The motor should start misfiring cylinders if and when the operator is not minding his throttle and the RPM gets to 6450.

My F150 starts hitting the rev limiter at 6300 rpms--300 rpm's over the redline. You might be 1 inch of pitch too high on the prop.

What does an outboard motor sound like when it hits the rev limiter

Until the tachometer problem is resolved, chasing propeller pitch is chasing rabbits down a hole.
