Looking for a new cranking battery... suggestions?

Looking for a new cranking battery for my 2004 115 EFI. I also run 2 998c SI graphs off of it. My last battery was not large enough to handle it all. What do you guys recommend for starting and handling the two graphs for a 8-10 hour day?

I'm very happy with my Autozone Duralast marine 27DP. That said, check out some of the commercial batteries that Energizer makes. Great value to be had there.

    Use a Deka 27m6, 1050mca and 180rc for about $100.

This battery from Sams Club. Affordable, strong, AGM and made by East Penn (Deka):

BMS is the battery management sytem..controls high/low voltage shutoff..over temp etc...I received an RB100 (not an sc) The BMS would shut it down when trying to start the 250 OPTI.

i'm looking to spend around $150-$200. Is 1000 CCA the best way to go? Also, what kind of Amp Hours should I be looking at getting to run my 2 graphs with still being able to crank my merc over after a few hours of fishing?

I wouldn't worry as much about amp hours as I would the RC (reserve capacity) and CCA. Usually, when you have the 1000CCA, the RC is going to be around 210 +/- and with that, the amp hours will take care of themselves.

I meant to say Duracell not Energizer.

I have a Merc Opti, run three graphs all day place livewell periodical during tournaments and my Duralast as been fine. Some recommended an AGM battery but you might want to check around on the Merc sections. I don't think your EFI's charging circuitry is compatible with an AGM battery.

This wet battery would be a good choice for your EFI. Mercury (and Don Weed) suggest only to use a wet battery, and not an AGM or deep cycle (although others may disagree).
Your EFI is very low demand, something in the area of about five hundred cca's, and this Deka has 840 cca's and a decent reserve, so lots of room for accessories.

Dean C, can you give some more details about your experience with the Relion cranking battery?
