Does anyone make a similar optic but with just a basic cross hair reticle like you'd see on a regular rifle scope? Or perhaps one that has both a reticle and a dot? I just don't want to be 100% reliant on a piece of electronics.

Primary Arms. Great red dot optics for the money.
If you want a more traditional style, illuminated with BDC, their ACSS series are amazing.
Leupold Mark AR with illuminated dot. You can't get a Red dot site with crosshairs but you can get a low magnification telescopic sight with illumination.

I asked the same question on here a few months back. Went with Burris, however its not a red dot. I think its the full field. Nice optic for my RR ATH

I went with Trijicon. Pretty good, but I hear Aimpoint is clearer. Aimpoint also has a smaller field of view.
New guy on the BBC, but I am an FFL and firearms instructor. An optic sight will doing well in daylight/low light fairly close up and without any real accuracy. If you intend to hunt, especially early or late and want real accuracy, you need a traditional scope. I recommend a 3-16 power for being able to shoot at distances of 50 to 500 yards.
Best of both worlds is to get a 6x Trijicon ACOG with RMR on top. You'll be good out to about 250-300 yards while the dot on top will get you those close up shots.
