difficulty raising z lock manual jackplate

i have an 8" th marine z lock jackplate. i tried to raise the motor, 225 optimax and i goes up uneven. all six side bolts were loosened. the center adjustment bolt was hard to turn clockwise to raise. the starboard side went up easy, the port side barely moved. however it does come down easy and evenly. any ideas or suggestions?

    thanks,

    kevin

spray some PB blaster between the outside locking plates and the jack plate then shake the motor a little. If one side goes up just lock it off and then keep raising the motor while shaking it and the low side should raise up. You can put a piece of wood blocking under the skeg and take some pressure off the jack plate too. Did you put any lube on the center all thread rod?

I tried to place wood under skeg but it didn't help. I didn't do anything else before asking. I error on the side of caution and like to ask before I do something not advised. Thanks for the response I will try your suggestion of lubimng then locking off opposite side.

    Thanks!
