Barefoot on front deck? Hot latches?

Anyone have a fix for wanting to fish barefoot? I found myself stepping on my latches and jumping in pain! My sandal tan line has to go as well

Recarpet the boat and cover the holes using a double over strap attached to the lid like champion did. Charger did the same thing on the new 210 elite.

I have dark carpet and fish barefoot. The latches will make you jump when you step on them on a hot sunny day. I keep an old beach towel on the boat and dip it in the water when the carpet and latches get too hot. Dip it a couple times per day and you are good to go.

Exactly! A latch burn is nothing compared to a few trebles in the foot. I wear shoes around sharp and hot objects.

I only bring one rod with me. (Striper fisherman and I typically use one lure rig for the day depending on what they want)

I did that on my Stratos. Don't need those latches, I can break fingernails so many other different ways. I have only had one hatch fly up, and that was when I hit a wave that almost broke my back. Latches won't stop a thief anyhow, and keys get lost.

I throw a white towel down on the deck when fishing barefoot. Latches, hinges and the brass pedestal mounts get HOT!

Back in the 80's Panama Jack sold those. Came with a special glue.

Shoes is a whole lot easier.
