    Unfortunate for both....that's a big damn deer...all too common seeing big mature deer being run over but nothing I don't reckon can be done about it...maybe do like I've seen in Australia on tv where they put up a fence on both sides and dig a tunnel under the highway to train kangaroos to use the tunnel...

    That is a giant buck. It was living in a restricted area on base. Military bases almost always provide some of the best sanctuaries for wildlife in the United States. Most military bases often have a great deal of wildlife diversity as well. The training operations, and land management, provide habitat diversity.
