2001 HP170 HPE trolling motor question.
So my boat has a 46 lbs thrust trolling motor. Its a motor guide. My dad has a 24V min kota hes willing to let me throw on the boat. What do I need to do to convert a 12V to a 24V? I know the mounting holes are different. What else am I missing?
Thanks Ray

Another battery, ideally two new ones (identical).
A jumperwire.
A two bank charger. Possibly a three bank, to charge starting battery also.
Check the wire size, from where batteries are to Trolling Motor, might need to upgrade. If you upsized the wires, might need a different plug, to accept the bigger wires.
Possibly a bigger fuse.
Get on minnkota s site, they have a chart that lists amp draw and wire size, length of run, by voltage and # thrust.
I did similar, went from a 40#, to a 75#.
