    296TF prop question

My 296 has a standard 25M prop on her and she has never been able to turn more than 5200 rpm. Evan after I blew the motor and had it rebuilt the result is the same. Could the prop be the culprit? I assume it's the original prop that came with the boat new. I'm the second owner and it was like new when I got her eight years ago. From what I've been told I should be turning around 5800ish rpm at wot. I've never even gotten close.

Maybe send the prop to Mark Croxton.

I'm gonna go to a local prop shop tomorrow and see what I can do. Maybe a trade is in order?

What motor are you running? Is the gauge reading correctly?

2001 Yamaha 200 3.1 OX66. The gauge reads correctly. I've had the boat since it had 25 hrs on it and it has always had a max rpm of 5200

Drop to a lower pitch, raise the engine, you need to get at or near max rpm's... Dan
