Paul Elias runs a Honda 250 with a 25p Fury 4 on his Bass Cat. Think he said he hits 72 mph at 6200 rpm's
That white Honda is kind of sharp looking. How do they compare in price to Yamaha?

Merc 15k??? Maybe a 225. A 250 was near 18k with my controls. I gave a little more than that for my 250ss suzuki. I'd bet the Honda might be a few dollars more. Also I could not find a Yamaha for 18k. Most around here were saying 20k or so.
If you do order a new boat you can get a hold of Hickory Legend he had Honda 250s for 15,500 I do believe.
The Honda will not be a day in and day out 70 mph motor for most people...
Mine is for sale with only 2.5 hours on it...It's listed on BBC among other places...Price is negotiable...
It's my understanding that Paul is using lithium batteries...This is what he told me:
The motor is about 5 to 7 mph slower than Merc. Try a 25 tempest. The last Triton I had ran 67. My Basscat runs 68.
He originally told me 72 mph with a Fury 4 @ 6200...This was before I bought my Honda...
When you say "today"...Are you referring to the Bass Elite Series event on Lake Champlain? In what heat? The heat of upstate New York? Lol...High temps were in the mid 70s and overnight lows into the low 50s...
You really can't go wrong on this one. The dealer would be the difference maker for me. I havent heard of anyone making oil on a sho for awhile. On these photoshoots we get sent these brand new sho's and we run them hard at wot for awhile and none have ever popped.
2013 Skeeter ZX20, 250 SHO
26 pitch Turbo FXP
Have a 250 SHO and really like it. It made oil for the first 10-12 hours of break in and none since.
The sho has to be ran like you stole it for 10 hours if you baby it the rings will not seat. The sho is one badass 4 stroke.
Yep grout I'm a non merc man after my optimax issues. I spent a ton on it and finally went to my 250suzuki. Could not be happier. And I have a 6 year warrantee, so I have some piece of mind.
The Suzuki is probably the best compromise when deciding between performance (Merc/Yama) and reliability (Honda).
I am pushing 60-64 on my 2015 797 with a 250 honda duel PP, over half tank of gas and every piece of tackle I own in the boat. would like to try and get closer to 70 just incase i am running behind in a tournament. otherwise I dont run over 55 no need to burn the extra gas. oh yeah timeing is everything when buying a boat! I paid under 50K less than a year ago!!!!! not prostaff nor did I buy it from a prostaff member charger does not really have prostaff!
SEAGUAR
I'd say my suzuki would run 74 or 75 with just me and gear. I am about 1 pitch under but love my holeshot. 2 guys and gear and I'm running 70 or so. It chines some at 70ish so I usually don't push beyond it.
