    Perplexing Fortrex Issue

While fishing this weekend my 24v/80 Fortrex stopped working. I checked all the usual suspects such as battery connections, plug in and switch. I was unable to get it working so I headed to the ramp. I stopped to drift over a ledge and while fishing I tried the pedal. The Fortrex worked again so I thought I would continue fishing. After about 30 minutes the motor quit again so to the ramp I went. Once home I pressed the button on the pedal and I worked again. Has anyone else had such an issue and if so what was the fix? I would much rather it be really broken than have a gremlin.

Is there a loose wire in the foot pedal? I had that happen to my old MG.....took me forever to figure it out too.

    Auto reset breaker?
If you have integrity, nothing else matters. If you don't have integrity,
    nothing else matters.

A bad connection that you overlooked, could be in the head of the trolling motor, in the plug, or at the breaker. The bad connection is acting like a breaker when it gets hot.

Check your reed switch underneath the plastic cover plate. IMO, the most poorly engineered POS ever invented. Have fought with mine for years. There are threads here if you do a search. Most have to do with adjusting the height of the magnet. Good Luck
