1992 276 Pro Tournament with 1998 Johnson 150 FastStrike. 4" Jackplate, 24 Raker prop. Fifteen yrs ago had prop cupped and might have lost a little top end, but great hole shot. I've ran up to 63-64 mph before, but recently 61.5 mph, usually 59 mph with family load in the summer.

    Hey Guys,
I can now post numbers since I've gotten through new motor break-in and prop tests:

    2001 Sprint 280 PRO
    Mod'd Mercury 2.5 EFI
    6000 RPM Limit
    SportMaster 1.87R/RH
    12" Offshore Mid
    Bob's 8" Hyd Plate + 2" Spacer= 10" Jack Plate
    Fuel Press.: 42-44 PSI
    3 Batteries
    Full Load of Gear
All Vent Holes Open (doesn't matter on an Offshore Mid)

All below are true GPS numbers w/approx. 20 gal. of fuel riding solo, moderate chop on the water:

    Prop #1 Merc Rev 4 repitched 25 to a 26P w/Heavy Cupping= 72 MPH
    (Sluggish Hole Shot)

    Prop #2 Merc Bravo 1 FS 26P Cupped= 78 MPH
(Good Hole Shot and All Around Prop)

    Prop #3 Performance Propeller 28P Drag 4= 77 MPH
    (Worst Hole Shot)

    Prop #4 Tempest Plus repitched 27 to a 28P Heavy Cupping= 81 MPH

(Like a Bullet Hole Shot, But One hell'va hand full at this speed, not for the faint of heart unless you like to dance in your boat at speed )

I'm sticking w/ the Bravo 1 FS as my go to prop.

Gary, I have a 28 Bravo xs that you are welcome to try. To my knowledge it's stock. It has the big holes instead of the plugs. I'm currently running a 26 Bravo with the flare cut off.

Thanks Michael, but I'm gonna stay where I'm at after hitting 81 with the Tempest and being on the razors edge of hooking the boat due to the lack of any pad causing me to take part in a butt pucker dancing session .....
