    Over heating alarm 04 ox66 250

Alarm is going off when idling, I can let it set for 5 minutes start it back up and will run fine. I will be going through the normal process of elimination impeller, water pump, thermostats, ect
Just wanted to see if anyone has had a similar situation

    Thank you for your input

Normally that is a symptom of dirty poppit valve. Ensure the seat is cleaned and updated (mushroom head) valve is used.

Ok after replacing the poppit valve and the thermostats took it out for a test run and alarm still went off. So with the only other thing I knew to do replaced impeller and rebuilt the pump nothing looked extremely worn out, but apparently it was. Fished a tournament last weekend and never got an alarm so at least I know that everything is new now.
Thank you for your feedback and hopefully this can help another do it yourself guy out there.
