    Question for rod builders

I had a rod get wet and now where the wrapping and apoxy that hold the eyes on has turned white. Have put it out in the sun in hopes it would dry and turn back. My question is do I keep on fishing with it or have all the eyes stripped off and re wrapped?

The epoxy is cracked around the guide feet allowing water intrusion. On the thing that may work is to dry it like you are and apply another light coat of finish. It should also extend on to the blank slightly to totally encapsulate the wrap.

    Bingo.

OP - You'll also notice on many factory rods, the tunnels on the sides of the guide feet do not get filled and that just lets water in. If you need any assistance on anything, give me a shout. I'm about 20 mins from Paducah.
