Lots of variables go into determining possible speed. Weight of guys and gear, prop type and size, prop to pad measurement, air temps, altitude, etc... Some of our gang may be able to give you rough guesstimates.....

No, 48 is not an acceptable number, but there's not enough information to even guess as to why.
60 ish is about right for a 184/150, so let's find out how to get you there.

Where are you in KS? I've had two of those boats. As Pat
said, you should be running close to 60 with that rig. I'm in Wichita and can help
you out if you want to meet up, or call me anytime.

My 1989 184 with original Evinrude will run 53-55 fully loaded, seems to vary with air temp. I'm running a 23" Trophy Plus, not fast but very stable.

Drdriver called me yesterday and we talked for a hour or so seems like a hell of a nice guy and told me that if I had any questions to call him up. I told him a greatly appreciated that now to just have him put me on some fish;). Champion owners seem to be some of the nicest people I have came across

We have a 83 184 FnS, with a 1988 Merc 150 XR4, Laser2, all stock, no Jack plate and the best I could muster with my son and I (350lbs), 3 batteries, 1/2 tank fuel and normal load, is 53-54 GPS. Stock speedo showed to be 56+ MPH, so don't trust it, they are never correct. Not even sure if our tach is correct so, not sure if we are turning all it can get or not.

Ours is in it's place of birth, Mt Home AR, getting some Gelcoat repairs from sun fade.....

We had it to 78mph non GPS'd, when we first got it (but it had a 200 Merc, chopper prop (and 150 Decals :) until our New XR4 arrived.

I plan on doing some tweaking Removing the Spark Adv Module, maybe adding a 6" Jack plate, and getting the prop massaged in hopes of hitting 60....

I will say, this baby, IMO, has one hell of a holeshot, it always has...

It just pops out of the hole so I don't want to screw that up.

Not the best Video, It was Cold - Windy and zoomed in when taken, Illinois Shelbyville Lake - March 2017.

My pleasure. Send me those pics when you get them, and let me know your prop and shaft to pad measurements at your convenience.

DO NOT get a Rite Hite JP. Read pinned post up top. They are subject to fail, with very bad results!!! Rapid Jack is an excellent brand!
