I'm far from an even decent drop shot fisherman, but my best luck has come on a 6 inch Roboworm rigged on one of their Rebarb hooks. I've also had luck nose hooking the Z-man Finesse WormZ. They work great for this as they don't tear off nearly as easily as other brands do when nose hooked.

A lot of it depends on fish, water clarity, size of fish, size of bait/forage, etc. Main things I will use are 4 inch senkos in either green pumpkin or natural shad wacky rigged, strike king half shell green pumpkin, keitech easy shiner 4 inch, and a zoom super fluke jr in natural colors. There will be other i use in certain situations, but majority of the time i will have any or all of those at the ready for any situation. I only use the VMC neko hooks 1/0 or size 2 depending on the bait.

    Jackall Cross Tail Shad

My go-to would have to be the Cross Tail Shad. Whether I'm fishing a lake like Falcon or a lake like Table Rock, it catches fish day in and day out. I've caught big ones on this too. In fact, my biggest fish on a drop shot (10.78) came on this bait. It has killer action in the water. Lots of colors to choose from too.

Roboworm 5.5" curly tail in Red Crawler on a #1 Rebarb.

2nd choice would be a Roboworm 6" straight tail in Folkestad Special on a #1 Rebarb

I prefer the brown /purple laminate in Chompers but that one works well.

As I really only use a drop shot when fishing for smallmouth, the first thing I put on is a Gulp 3" fry worm in green pumpkin. I get a lot of bites from all sizes of fish, and it will catch big fish. But if I'm after bigger fish then I'll put on a 4" Gulp minnow in black shad, or watermelon/pearl.

I use a lot of 4" Roboworms as well. Prizm shad in clearer water, New Ayu in darker water. I also like the Skinny Bear 4.25" shad.

The only time I seriously fish a drop-shot is on Lake Erie. The smallies I fish for in Georgian Bay will hit it as well, but since they hit a tube just as well, a tube is easier and less hassle to fish. On Erie, my go to drop shot bait is a Zoom Fluke in Smokin' Shad. A tube is also a good choice. Also, there is a hand poured finesse work I fish sometimes in Scuppernong that they sometimes prefer.

Zoom lizard, 4", 5" or maybe even 6". Alternately, wacky rigged Senko or nose hooked Roboworm or Yam. Cut tail worm. Usually use a circle hook on all the above.
