    Compression on 96 225 efi

    I have a 96 mariner 225 efi with compression on all 6 is at 90 each. Is that good? Bad?

    Was a quality gauge being used? Was it done properly (i.e.: warmed up to operating temp, throttle linkage disconnected and manually at WOT, etc.)? See sticky for proper instructions. Usually, if they are within 10% of each other, it's acceptable. It's very rare to have all 6 at the exact number as the others. I bet a quality gauge will give you a better idea. Also, a leak-down test is the only real way to tell a motors "health". Good luck!
