mine would back out, I'd tighten every year before going to Erie, last time I put blue loctite on them, looks like solved the problem,
Blue loctite No No red or you never get screws back out

I dont think red loctite will sieze up a screw in a wood type or fiberglass material. And if it did how many times have you had to remove them?

Charger Bass Boats have a strip of oak running the length of the cap. Screws go into the oak. 3 Charger boats, never had the problem OP speaks of

Do you put it on the threads of the screw or on the screw head?

I put it on the threads, haven't found a loose screw since I did it.

You buy a Charger. They run a piece of oak all the way around the cap on the inside. Oak gets damp, it shrinks, tightens the screws

the piece you cut off of the wire ties is even better, keep a few pieces in the tool box.

Happens a lot if you run big water or rough water . Around here we go up one size of screw and put more than the manufacturer put in.

You might think of using red thread locking products. That is a type of super glue. On small bolts sometimes you have to heat it just to be able to get the bolts out. It's pretty strong.

Bamboo skewers are the best for filling wallowed out holes to tighten a screw. Still needs silicone to seal the screw, but works much better than toothpicks.

I also use a little silicone spray on the rub rail and rubber mallet when re-installing the rub rail. Turns it into a 5 minute job for whole boat.
